I see what you mean about the Star Trek rip off. Only, that's set over three centuries hence, so I reckon CC is allowed to introduce the idea of tiny introduced machines controlling an organism at the very beginning of the 21st Century. It is talked about in scientific circles. It's probably already under way in some dodgy area of the research world!

I am a bit surprised you didn't recognise Krycek. I feel he was signposted throughout and surely his telephone call to Matheson halfway through was a dead give away? That voice! (I need ScullysMyHero to acknowledge that one, I feel!)

Actually, Seven of Nine is the best thing about Voyager. They did a good thing when they lost the very simpering, goodie-goodie Kes for Seven! But I digress....
