The choice of music was good - I was singing along while I'm Only Happy When It Rains was playing.

Now I'm trying desperately to think of anything else good about this ep...

Nope, I got nothin'. :o(

Dev, I think you got the plot nailed. There was no rhyme nor reason for the motivation behind the characters actions, and I think that's the reason this was so, well, boring.

The only part I didn't find tedious was the teaser - that I just found very disturbing. It's not often I find myself being very shocked by something in TXF (this is the person who thinks Home is one of the best episodes), but the awful demon thing (sorry, I found the special FX in that scene very poor, have to disagree with you there, dev) ripping a baby out of a pregnant woman, with nothing left to the imagination, made me feel nauseous.

Usually, I spend the whole ep interacting with the telly (I know, I'm a sad, sad cow!) - laughing or telling Mulder to stop chasing cars ;o) or Scully to 'Go Girl', or just general 'Fantastic!' comments (no one else is watching with me, so I don't spoil it for anyone!). I watched this whole ep in complete silence, apart from singing along to the Garbage song. I think that says more about the standard of this ep than any long-winded post I could write.

Oh, and SMH, I'm glad the 'I'm not a psychologist' line got noticed before. I knew I couldn't be the only one puzzled by that response. Not only did Mulder do a psychology degree, but the answer was in response to Scully asking him what was driving the killer. He's a profiler!!

One more thing before I give up on this ep - how come Mulder immediately jumped to the conclusion that Wayne was a demon? It annoyed me that he had no proof *whatsoever*. I know he often makes leaps, but usually they're intuitive and based on something - he just thinks a little more laterally than most. But this one, he was drawing horns on Wayne's pic after talking to the guy for 5 minutes. Does he have a special Demon Radar that we haven't been told about?

I'll shut up now. Hope next week's is better.
