Well that's the ending we got in the US! You didn't see that part? You all must have gotten an alternate version. ;-)

The "Oh Brother!" has kind of bothered me. Actually I think it was just what CC consideredf a clever comeback to wrap up the episode as just a fantasy and we aren't supposed to read much into it at all. But of course we all do.

I guess her thinking he was on drugs is the best justification for her rather mean sprited response. Did you notice Mulder's litle hurt look as she left the room. Previous to that we can actually see him mulling over this moment in his mind and getting up the courage to say those words. (I agree DD was great in this scene). It obviously meant a great deal to Mulder. He had just gone though a life altering experience (He thinks so anyway) and was feeling like his life had taken a step forward.

In the end after she left and he felt the bruise on his cheek, I think his smile indicated a few things. He had his proof that it had indeed happened (and I think he was thinking solely of the kiss at this moment) and also he felt relief that he had told her he loved her. For him it is now out in the open whether or not she accepted it as truth. He's ok with that for now. He has now realized he loves her and he declared it out loud. That's enough for him at this point and he can wait til she catches up to him. I think his own realization and the peace he feels about that is more important than what her reaction was at this point.

Just curious, had you guys been spoiled by this last scene or did it take you by surprise?

And didn't you love the way he kept tapping her waist?

det, still wondering why Skinner seems to be palsy walsy with the Lone Gunmen all of a sudden.
