I think that just to add one little thought--I couldn't help wondering if watching them together made Morris remember what he and his wife once had as well. The scene between M&S was so intimate--in spite of no physical contact--that he couldn't help but get the message that he was the intruder in their lives. Adding this memory later on while watching his wife drag his chair out of the house, he must have finally realized that he needed to rekindle his own personal life and let M&S get on with theirs.

I love it when CC refers to other films, stories, etc. by using lines or visual cues. It's just part of the intrigue of the show!
