Yankeesnut, nic - to all, really, who can find good things about 'Home'. I too can find good things about *M&S* in 'Home' (There are some very touching and funny moments between them) but I can't seem to get beyond them to the episode's central point: the undoubted existence of a family not so unlike this one living somewhere in the heartlands of the USA. That disturbs me and I don't even live there! I know it's been said that the ep has a cartoon quality about it and it is so OTT as to be unbelievable. Maybe my humour radar is defective. Not only did it not make me laugh (except at M&S's banter) but it made me physically queasy. And not much on television does that. Finally, I still don't understand why Mulder and Scully let the sheriff go to his death and they didn't try to help him...
