Subject: I've been watching 'Unrequited'

This episode has got a lot of political significance to it and it is probably the main example of how using an X-File to make a 'real-life' point draws attention to it very deftly. The scandal of missing soldiers and the fact that there were and still are rumours that US soldiers are still being held in Vietnam made it a very strong story.

For those of us who like FBI action, this was a gem. A good example of the team work that is brought in on big assignments. When this happens, M & S are no better than any other agent. They fit into the team. In fact, the bad guy in this was shot by another member, not by M or S and I liked that.

There was also the poignant moment when Mulder suggested to Skinner that: "They're denying the man's death - and with all due respect, Sir, he could be you". We remember the occasions, then, when Skinner has confided in Mulder about his experiences in Vietnam.

A thoughtful episode. Low key, but interesting. I was also wondering if this was the only episode where the cast has actually been at the location they are meant to be? We know they were really in Washington DC and not some invented place, in and around Vancouver. Are there any other genuine locations people can think of?
