Subject: Emily

Hi Old ep people,
Since I have been watching some old ep tapes recently i thought I would hop across here for a change. I love the old eps. I watched Emily this afternoon. When I first watched it I didn't like it. Especially the first part as Mulder was nonexistent. But this arv i found I liked it more the second time round. It still isn't one of my favourites though. I think it was unnecessary to involve Scully so deeply in the mythology. Embrionic experiments is one thing but to actually create a full blown child is another. Maybe that's why I don't like it as much. Maybe it is emotionally too far fetched even for XF. I would love to hear some of your views on this. I am having a hard time accepting that Scully is not constantly haunted by the fact that she could own upteen dozen children running around somewhere. I know GA talked about how hard it was to play that part with just the right balance of concern/love and detachment. But it is not Scully's reaction to Emily that I have hard time grasping but her reaction to all the potential Emilies out there.

Love to hear what you think

Stardoe
