You definitely had to be a Brit with a long memory to get that one! She's referring to a very old TV ad which showed a traditional delivery boy, with a bicycle, delivering bread. The point being that the bread, Hovis, is very wholesome and unchanging and would make you think back to those halcyon days when you got your daily bread delivered and everything was quaint and wonderful. *I* got the allusion, but for you lot, it was confusing, I agree.

"Hovis - it's as good for you today, as it's always been" There look at me, I even remember the ad's slogan. That's what holding on to ancient TV trivia knowledge does for you!
