it's so nice to be able to discuss new eps, i'm so glad the BBC has finally got off their butts......

you guys brought up some great points. mulder definitely was a bit of a jerk, but you *can* almost see where he's coming from. i was so surprised when scully brought up the hallway scene issues - its not like her (IMO) to bite the bullet like that and face their feelings. i just felt so sorry for her when mulder ditches her (again!) to go off in the car with diana. was anyone else just screaming 'no!!!!!!!'???? :) mulder is just so blind when it comes to her, especially when she pulled the gun on him. the first time i saw this ep, i was a little angry that mulder and scully seemed to spend the entire ep arguing. but i think the second time round, the whole ep has totally grown on me. it *was* a great contrast to the film.

i think my favourite bit is where they've been refused access to the power plant and then they realise gibson is in the car, and they automatically spring into action, with sideways glances at each other. with minds that work together like that, how could mulder possibly be fooled by diana??!! :) and ITA on gibson - he's such an amazing character - i loved the way he knows he's a 'lab-rat' but he almost faces it with this resignation, because its kind of like his destiny. i thought mulder and scully were a little hypocritical when he had explained to them how he was being used, and then they discussed basicially doing the same thing, which gibson, of course recognized.

re: showing whats left of the hosts body! i'm so glad CC decided to show that - i was starting to think of TXF as being not very scary anymore! did anyone love the bloodied nail scratch down the wall as much as i did?! (weird question, i know, but then thats me!!!)
and as for showing the alien - i thought CC has timed it just right - althought it did surprise me in the type he went for - it's a little stereotypical.

i'm so glad you all enjoyed the ep, like in said, i enjoyed it much more second time round. i'm just waiting to see if the same thing happens with 'terms of endearment' !!
