I'd love to know what happens with Gibson, dev. You're right, very similar situation to Krycek in his silo with the black oil. I got the impression that he was communicating with the alien and that was why it didn't kill him. He just had that concentrating look he got when he was 'listening' to what people were thinking.

I wouldn't say I was being particularly protective of Scully, dev. Just that Mulder treated her badly on more than one occasion. Don't you think that his ditch of her, when they'd just decided that Gibson was their best, their *only* chance of proving the whole thing, to go off with Fowley, was unnecessary and badly judged? But that was maybe more understandable than the way he treated her in the office. He was very offhand with her, and when he said 'Are you asking me to make a choice?'... if that had been me in the office I would have walked out on him there and then. He seemed to disregard everything they've gone through together, and everything he said to her in FTF, based on one 'betrayal' (in his view).

But, he has been through the mill, and his reactions are understandable to a degree. I actually really enjoyed the friction for some reason. Must have been in a weird mood, but it made the relationship even more real than usual!
