I think this is quite an interesting thing that they have put another woman into the mix, and one who is more obviously into Mulder's view of the world. Presumably this was done to add good dramatic tension and also because I know DD has expressed the view that Mulder should at least show signs of having had relationships before. He was upset at the overall impression that Mulder was like a monk! In 'The Beginning', I think the 'Trust me' scene was very significant because Mulder is a bit too ready to trust Fowley and he should listen to Scully when she gives an opposing view. I think we could find out that Diana is not necessarily straightforward. As for the shifty look, I suppose she'd argue she had to look convincing to those who put Mulder down (like Spender!) It's got me very involved though. Personally, I can't wait for Fowley and Spender to be in it again and cause more ructions!
