.. I was going to say infuriating but that is an exaggerated way to say it. You are right. She has been more even handed in reacting to strange events in the past. She has even been upset and personally effected by things like seeing the ghost of an about-to-be-dead person, or when she saw the alien ship in The Red and the Black. So we know, deep down that she has to accept some things. It seems to be for the *others* circulating around them (like the OPR board) that she sticks to a rigid scientific view. She tries to protect Mulder and herself of course) from being ridiculed for being so 'out there'. Mulder has no such qualms. He gives himself to his beliefs, he shares with anybody who will listen his theories and he takes no prisoners. Did you see Mulder's reaction when Gibson told Scully "You already know [that it is an alien]. You just don't want to believe it" ? It was like Mulder was saying "See, even this twelve year old sees the inescapable truth here" Why can't you?
