definitely watching from an upstairs tinted window in the police station across the street were Stardoe, the Mayor, Kande, CW, LCJSMD, M and S, Bubba, Detoured and all the various superheroes who accompanied the crew.

"What is she doing?" asked a suspicious Mayor "she is still tying her shoe."

"Who knows unless that delayed action superglue I put on her laces is finally working" muttered Stardoe. "She tries my patience at times and this is one of them!"

"Superglue?" asked a shocked Kande "She'll skin you alive if she finds out who did that to her."

"She better not find out" said the sheriff "I just need to keep tabs on people who threaten my friends."

"So who wants to go and help her out?" querried CW as she tried to stifle a laugh. "I suppose we could do it" as she glanced at LCJSMD "that way she might not figure it out quite so quickly."

Since nobody else volunteered, CW sighed, took her friend's arm and left the room with her trusty knitting bag and it's hollow knitting needles full of a variety of emergency potions.

As the pair left the room, nobody spoke until Stardoe muttered "I suppose I should follow and make sure that KS doesn't try something stupid."

Meanwhile KS was busy still trying to tie her shoe only this time she just couldn't shake it off her fingers. "What on earth?" she thought "Now what has that crew done to me, me of all people!" Glancing up the street she was relieved (but wouldn't ever admit it) to see CW and her strikingly handsome companion walking down the street toward her.

"What's up KS?" asked CW. "You were here tying that shoe when I walked past here 30 minutes ago."

Glaring at her over the sunglasses which had slipped down farther on her nose she said as nicely as the moment permitted "do you have any acetone in your purse?"

Raising an eyebrow CW didn't ask any questions and reached into her knitting bag, pulled out one of the size 11 needles, twisted off the cap and offered it to KS.

"Pour it on my fingers and laces" commanded KS now quite agitated. "I don't know how the superglue got on here and I suspect I will never get the whole story."

Pouring the acetone as directed, CW waited to make sure the fingers were totally free before replacing the cap. "You might want to go home and wash your hands and cut those laces off" she said. "I don't think I would want to tempt fate again."

Without a word of thanks, KS glared at the pair and strode off indignantly toward home, her snooping mission now at an end.

With a collective sigh of relief, the rest of the crew waited until she was out of sight and joined CW and her friend in the Mall entry.

"NOW we can shop and hopefully old snoopy there won't be able to guess what her presents are" Detoured said with a grin. "Let's get going before it's too late!"

Racing down the hallways, the shopping crew quickly bought everything they had previously put on lay-away and headed for the Klub.
