A completely unrepetent Mayor is reliving her birthday. "Ooh, that Red Speedo Revue clone was double-jointed," she marvels. "Stardoe outdid herself on that one."

KS squints her eyes and retches. "Blech. Can we talk about something else now? Like the raise you were going to give me?"

CW is looking a little urpy herself. "Yeah, the story of what happened after the lights went out and you ran out of clothes to toss, Mayor, was much better left to the imagination. Or lack, thereof."

The Mayor snaps herself out of her post-birthday bliss. "Oh all right, you weenies. KS, here's your paycheck."

KS rips open the envelope and peers at the miniscule amount. She blinks, looks again, then takes last month's paycheck out of her pocket to compare. "You gave me a penny raise?"

The Mayor looks smug. "Actually, after taxes and fines and whatnot, it should have been half a penny, but I was feeling generous."

KS is turning puce, and IG who is standing next to her, feels intense waves of heat steaming from her body. "This is how much you value my assassin skills? After I offed that guy last month..." She swivels her head, sees Sheriff Stardoe's eyes widen and quickly changes the ending of her sentence..."I mean, pushed that guy off the swing at the playground for your son?"

The Mayor pats her on the head. "The way I see it, you enjoy your job so much that you'd do it for free anyway." She plucks the paycheck from KS's hand and gives a moue of disgust as she reads it. "It's not much, but if I give Stanley a smaller tip than usual, this should just about cover my manicure. Ta, ta, everyone!" She trips down the stairs of the stage and walks through the swinging doors of the Klub.

KS is standing open-mouthed. "Did she just take back my paycheck?"

Kande looks at her. "She did give you a pat on the head. And you do enjoy your work, which is giving the rest of us a bad name."

"Arrrrrrrrr!" KS screams as the crew jump on her and hold her down.
