after spending the first five seasons of XF insisting that he didn't want anybody to speculate on the possibility of sexual attraction between his two main characters, because it detracted from the "point" of the show, CC turned around after Mulder left and set up ANOTHER UST relationship between Doggett and Reyes. And that, apparently, he let the Doggett/Reyes relationship proceed at something vaguely resembling a normal timeframe (we had to wait until M&S has been together for five years before we even got a "dream sequence" kiss!).
What's especially odd about all of this is that Doggett, unlike Mulder, had some legitimate reasons for being wary of sexual intimacy, given that his marriage had ended in divorce after the death of his son.
