Who promptly drops her armload of grenades and sounds off with a trumpet. As the grenades explode and the trumpet sounds, a lone, wavering voice is heard over the fray: "...the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there..."

The Mayor cuffs Kande as they run for cover. "Stop that infernal racket! Sheesh, I hate when you Noromo's burst into song like that." The two dive for cover as the night sky turns red from an attack. "And in case you've forgotten, this is Cyberspace, NOT the U.S."

Kande ducks as something explodes overhead. "Sorry. I don't know what came over me." The two watch as KS runs past carrying a machine gun, and motioning a troop of Young Librarians to load a cannon. "Where does she get that stuff?"

"From the ammunition budget," the Mayor coughs into her hand. When Kande turns to stare at her, the Mayor feels she owes her an explanation. "Three years ago, KS coerced me into diverting some funds into a Shipperville Protection account. Until this moment, the items purchased with the account have never been used. Oh sure, KS has put on some training camps, but she's been conservative with the amount of actual ammunition used, preferring instead for her recruits to make their own out of whatever materials were handy."

"How does one make their own ammunition?" Kande puzzles.

"Apparently from dung," the Mayor informs her. They both grimace, and then try to dig lower into their hiding places as the rat-tat-tat of shooting is heard nearby. CW crawls over to the two and jumps into the depression they've been cowering in.

"Wow, KS can really put on a fundraiser!" CW crows, watching the mob throwing bills down and betting on who KS will shoot next. "Who's she shooting at anyway?"
