As some of you may have noticed from my columns in the TV watchers forum, I've become a "Gater" -- fan of "Stargate" -- in the past six months.
It seems that Jack and Samantha on that show are, in many ways, similar to Mulder/Scully or Remington/Laura. Samantha, like Scully, is the scientist and Jack is always trying to get her to "loosen up" and "have a little fun". Jack keeps trying to lure Samantha up to his cabin in the remote Minnesota wilderness every time they have some time off. Supposedly, he wants the two of them to be "alone together" away from the watchful eyes of their commanding officer, so they can go fishing.
Uh, yeah. . .fishing. Sure. Right. Whatever.
