Patrons of the club wondered aloud what had happened to the power. Suddenly light from a large torch illuminated the room.

"kande, where did you get that torch?" CW looked at the klub owner suspiciously.

"I'll ask the questions around here. Can someone please explain what happened to him?" With her torch she motioned towards the ground where Mulder lay silent.

"It couldn't have been him screaming," KS offered. "That was definitely a girlie scream."

"Regardless, he's down. Who would have done such a thing?"

"Who had the motive?" Came a familiar voice. The group looked to the door where the mayor of the fine town hobbled towards them. She didn't look good on her crutches with the patch over her eye.

"Mayor, what happened to your--" kande stopped as KS shoved and elbow in her gut and whispered "it's probably best not to ask."

"Don't worry about me, kande. I plan on recovering in one of the finest day spas in Shipperville, courtesy of the tax payers. But back to Mulder. Who had motive to hurt him?"

"kande did! You know she's jealous of Mulder and Scully!" kande glared at KS for a moment before offering up her own opinion.

"What about bubba? Maybe he thought he'd be in line for a raise if he got rid of Mulder."

Accusations began flying across the room. It seemed everyone had a reason to dislike Mulder. The room quieted as KS shouted above everyone "WHERE DID HE GO?"

Mulder's body was gone! Where he had been laying a folded piece of paper rested. The group circled around it and didn't notice Agents Scully and Reyes enter the klub. Scully and Reyes closed into the circle and stared at the paper as well, until Scully broke the silence.

"Has anyone seen Mulder?"
