Sunday was the St. Patrick's Day Parade, and I heard they were filmiing part of the movie there. I heard from a source that the best place to see RP and Joaquin Phoenix and John Travolta would be at the very beginning of the parade, so my roommate and I and two of our friends went. At first my roommate was whining because the parade goes very close to our house and I wanted to drive to another section through all the parade traffic. But then I mentioned Joaquin to him and he was all about it. Unfortunately, though, he had to drive a friend home and then got stuck in parade traffic on the way back to our house. So by the time we got ready to go the parade was already past the beginning and making it way down by our house. Because of the horrible traffic our only option was to just stay near our house and hope against hope that they traveled almost the entire parade route. Then my friends started whining cause they were "SO hungry" and they "NEEDED" to go get cheesesteaks. I forced them to stay for awhile, and this was seriously the longest parade ever and were standing next to some doofus who was planning on starting riot if he saw Travolta by running into the street for his autograph. Idiot. Anyway, eventually the cries of "cheesesteak!" by my friends wore me down, and we left. We got cheesesteaks and went home to watch Signs, so my roommate got to see Joaquin after all.

I got an email from the girl I've been in contact with who is in Maryland who went to the parade. Well, she got up to the parade beginning very early, and she met and talked to and took pictures of both RP and Joaquin! She said he was super-friendly and sporting a mustache, and his hair was a little long. He was also sporting the dress uniform for fireman and, according to her, looked so hot. I cannot believe he was one mile from me and I missed it! I should have just abandoned my friends the second my roommate got stuck in traffic.
