From zap2it.com:

Tarzan and Jane

Premise: A contemporary spin on an old story. Two decades after his parents died in the African jungle, leaving him to be raised by apes, Tarzan's billionaire uncle has him captured and brought back to New York City. Escaping captivity, he meets a police detective named Jane who is already romantically involved with another man, leaving her to choose between civilization and humanity.

From What We've Seen: Think "Beauty and the Beast," except the beast is really pretty and has great abs. Calvin Klein model Fimmel is the jungle-raised man, with Pileggi, leaving ambiguity at his old job, is the mean old uncle. NYPD detective Jane is indebted to Tarzan after he saves her life, and thus begins a crusade to see why he's being kept under lock and key -- a crusade that involves lots of longing gazes and romantic tension.

Stars: Travis Fimmel, Mitch Pileggi ("The X-Files"), Sarah Wayne Callies, Johnny Messner, Miguel A. Nunez Jr. and Sarah-Jane Potts

Studio: Warner Bros. Television

Producers: Laura Ziskin ("Spider-Man," "Party of Five"), David Gerber, P.K. Simonds ("Beauty and the Beast"), Eric Kripke and David Nutter ("Smallville," "Without a Trace")
