Subject: You came along and you cut me loose

"She's a pain in the ass, that's what she is." She stated with a huff, rolling her eyes at the way the dog was now curled oh so passively in his lap. "You know, you could have called her like twenty minutes ago and saved me all this trouble." She stated, raising a brow at him before she plopped back down on the bench, catching her breath from her little run around escapade. She really had missed him, missed his company and his touch, the way he got so serious someties and his dry sense of humor. Everyone at the school always said that they were the proof that 'opposites attract' because she was so flightly, often loud, teasing and bold and he was more of a quiet sort, laid back and more introverted than she was. Still, he had always seemed to enjoy her personality and she had needed his calm, soothing essence to get her through more stressful times in her life. He made her smile, made her calm down, centered her really. However, she thought maybe she had a bit of influence on him because he had opened up quite a bit, brooded a little less than he had, at least, he was like that during their relationship. She had no idea how he was now. It had been a year since they had spoken, other then a few emails that had been pretty strained and evantually just slowed to a stop. "Thanks..for grabbing my stuff. I would have flipped if I forgot it." She smiled a touch, watching Nani as she cuddled up against him. How many times as she pushed Nani out of the way and taken the spot against his chest? Shaking her head just a touch, she looked away to gaze over the courtyard instead. The commons were pretty empty since the actual semester hadn't started yet but there were some students milling about, probably late registring for their classes or purchasing books or something. "When did you get home?" She questioned, finally asking a question to him, still small talk but a little less impersonal.
