Actually the Big Bang theory is a funny show, IMHO which sounds funny coming from me. It isn't just the nerd factor, rather for me, his character is so much like a couple of guys that I know who are hilarious people.

I forgot about Cheers--we watched that one faithfully back in its day.

Dharma and Greg--I forgot about that one. I wonder if that's where Lost got the name Dharma for its'show?
