I'm sure there's something she could watch from later on but I recalled that at least in the 70s, prime time shows had positive role models for the main characters (for the most part). Everyone is so shades of gray now. Or it's an obnoxious Nick tween show. I give Lindsay Wagner credit for always having her character in Bionic Woman treat even the villains kindly and find the good in everyone. She never went around kicking butt for the fun of it, it was always a last resort in self defense.

Dirk Gently only lasted 4 episodes (a special in 2010 & one short BBC season in 2012) and I'm told dropped the more fanciful story elements from the novels. Still had time travel and robots but more street level than what Douglas Adams had imagined. Stephen Mangan plays the lead, he's great. I'd seen him in a show called Episodes, bug teeth & curly hair. The other leads were all very good as well. Has a whodunit atmosphere but so out in left field so don't expect the pronouncement to make logical sense.
