Subject: "Dragnet" and "Adam-12"

We've been watching these two old-timey cop shows in reruns weekly. In many instances, they're funnier than I remembered (deliberately funny, I mean; although in some cases, the attitudes of those times are pretty funny, too).

Oddly enough, in some way I think they're more realistic than contemporary cop shows, in the sense that one of the partners in each show is married while the other is single. That seems more reflective of real life than the way current cop shows (i.e. the various NCIS's and CSI's) will have a whole ensemble of cast members and not a one of them will be married!
