The series name is taken from the old True Detective books back in the 19th or thereabouts. The we're different stories with different characters. So the next season of the show will have a new story with different characters and actors.
This first season was not just violent but had lots of six as well. Just thought I'd mention it.I frankly think it kept us from learning more about the story. There were things left out regarding what happened.
