I don't watch Joan on a regular basis, but isn't it about a high school student??? IMHO, there is nothing "unrealistic" about a girl remaining a virgin until after she has graduated high school. Despite all the articles about teenage sex, only about half (it varies a bit depending on what studies you read and how you define sex) of teenagers lose their virginity before high school graduation. Plenty of people-- especially those from strongly religious family backgrounds -- do choose to wait to have sex. . .sometimes even until they are married.
