Did anybody else here ever watch "JAG" the military-legal drama that was on network TV during the 1990s and early 2000s?

I started watching JAG on a semi-regular basis during its third or fourth season. It was never a "must see" show for me (like XF) but I watched it most weeks.

Lately I've been catching some of the first season eps in reruns and the first season seems like an entirely different show from the ones I watched!! The only character who was in the show in the first season and still around when I began watching was Harmon Rabb, the male lead. But for seasons 3 and onwards, the show was basically a military version of something like "Boston Legal" or "L.A. Law"; it was basically a courtroom drama with an ensemble cast.

In the first season it's a lot more like XF; not in the "spooky" way, but in the sense of it only have two main characters -- one man and one woman -- and the two of them going off every episode to investigate some sort of mysterious (but in the criminal, not supernatural, meaning) happenings. These main characters are technically lawyers in the first season, just as they are in subsequent seasons, but in the first season they mostly investigate and only rarely litigate.
