Subject: Alone

Being at college is a weird experience. You have tons of freedom but also tons of responsibility. No one is there to make sure u do any thing, it's all up to you. But with all this freedom, for me atleast, came a great deal of loneliness. All alone in this big school with my family so far away. Every weekend its as if i am purposely being reminded of how alone i am. Every1's parents come up for the weekend, or every 1 goes out partying. It hurts to know that that could be me, but isn't. I go to dinner alone and see my x-friend hanging around with a whole bunch of people. It's not fair! I consider myself as having a great personality, and yet i seem to be the only one who knows that. I know a lot of people, but i still am so alone. I'm a great person in class but outside people don't wanna hang with me. Then there is Jake! Jake is the coolest guy i know, but because of the fact that i have no friends here, i feel like he won't like me either. Therefore i watch and admire him from afar, because i'm so afraid that if he finds out that i like him, he will never ever talk to me again, and i would die if that happened.
I'm telling you this as a younger person just so u know. College may or may not be different for you. No matter how college is for you, remember that its about education not popularity. I pay good money for school and i'm trying my best to get the most out of it. I hope one day you'll get a chance to experience it too. And if u have tons of friends or very few like me, remember that the most important person u should get to know, is yourself.
