Hey, that happened to me and i couldn't figure it out! I don't think its because your CD is scratched. My friend tol me to download the SIMS FILE COP. You can download it from thesims.com. Then when you install it it will get rid of all bad wall, floor,texture,skin,and other files that are bad. Then your game will not blink off. You may want to do that once every month or so. Hope this helped
