The issue we don’t have any of that money coming into athletics or basketball.

Face the facts - CU is a nice school but the bulk of the kids either stay local & those who leave never reconnect with the school after they graduate.

The job market in Buffalo is not like Boston, NYC or Pittsburgh.

We’re kidding ourselves if we think we can compete with those markets. Instead make athletics a priority & part of the alumni network to build the brand of the school. Bona & Siena have done that.

The top-rated basketball facilities in the MAAC are ranked primarily based on seating capacity, aesthetics, and game-day atmosphere:

Top-Tier Facilities1.

1.MVP Arena (Siena College): Located in downtown Albany, this is the largest arena in the MAAC with a seating capacity of approximately 15,500. It is frequently praised for its high-major feel, hosting major crowds for big games, and acting as a premier mid-major venue in the Northeast.

2. M&T Bank Arena (Quinnipiac University): Situated on the York Hill Campus, this 3,570-seat venue is generally regarded as the most visually appealing and structurally modern facility in the conference. It is part of a conjoined complex that also hosts the university's ice hockey arena.

3. Leo Mahoney Arena (Fairfield University): Opened in 2022, this modern 3,500-seat facility replaces the antiquated Alumni Hall with state-of-the-art chairback seating, premium suites, and excellent sightlines.

4. McCann Arena (Marist College): A quintessential 3,200-seat college basketball venue. It has benefited from recent upgrades and has an intimate seating bowl close to the hardwood.

Middle-Tier Facilities

5. William Pitt Center (Sacred Heart University): Recently renovated, this arena has seen significant improvements, rotating the court to maximize space and providing a solid mid-major atmosphere.

6. Hynes Athletics Center (Iona University): Located in New Rochelle, this 2,611-seat facility is compact and can be incredibly loud during rivalry matchups, though it lacks some of the luxury amenities of newer builds.

7. Knott Arena (Mount St. Mary's): A 3,120-seat arena designed with a peaked roof resembling a mountain. The high ceiling slightly muffles crowd noise, but it remains a highly respectable on-campus venue.

8. Alumni Gymnasium (Rider University): Known as the "Broncs' Zoo," this 1,650-seat gym has an incredibly tight and electric game-day atmosphere, despite being one of the smaller and older venues in the conference.

Lower-Tier Facilities

9. Koessler Athletic Center (Canisius University): Opened in 1968, this 2,196-seat arena serves its purpose well but suffers from physical limitations and an aging physical footprint.

10. Gallagher Center (Niagara University): Opening in 1949, this is the oldest arena in the MAAC. While it offers decent viewing proximity, the age of the facility limits its modern athletic amenities.

11. Draddy Gymnasium (Manhattan University): Colloquially referred to as an "aircraft hanger" by fans, this 2,345-seat gym brings the crowd right to the floor but suffers from dated infrastructure and limited modern seating.

Not listed is Merrimack or St.Peter's. Merrimack would be in the top 3rd & St. Peter's would be most likely the bottom of the MAAC.

At some point the school needs to invest in the athletic infrastructure. KAC is almost 60 years old.

I've been to Rider. It makes the KAC look like MSG. No way is it #8.
