Subject: Re: Can odb store any TQuery and etc?
In reply to: Michel 's message, "Re: Can odb store any TQuery and etc?" on 14:33:13 05/31/01 Thu

Hi Michel,

I am glad that I finally find something that traditional rdbm can't do. Could I pack all aspect of a customer, include its history and purchasing behaviour in an object, then send it through the inet in one round trip?

What I mean store an TQuery object is an Object with result set which ready to display in TDBGrid. If I defined the cust_purchasing_hist field to a type of TQuery, then store the TQuery obj. as an sub-obj. of customer file. It is convenient to send a whole customer file in a basket and use rad tools to rebuild the info.

Another possible use of store a TQuery obj. is use in web session tracking. Since java and perl can use this method to track client visit, why not Obj. Pascal?

Thanks
Marcel
