I'm a small business owner who has sold millions in product. Marketing is no big deal or set of secrets.

Too many "experts" claim they got the "secrets." Then they want to share their secrets with us, for a hefty price.

I started with big network of business contacts. By doing that, I built on a foundation trust. I already had some sales lined up.

I know other business owners also who started with very little advertising. Some had a lot of competitors. But they were very active networking. I'm not referring to network marketing.

Every successful business has to have somebody doing that.

I've seen others fail because they had no idea who their target market is or would be. They started without a customer base.

I started advertising after I was successful.

Some people think they are going to sell things by putting their name out there. I doubt that will ever work. It doesn't make a difference what's in their ads if they built trust & credibility. They can offer great products and services too. People won't buy from anybody they don't trust or don't like unless they've got no choice.

There's too much of that missing in business today, so many businesses are failing.
