Subject: Lone Star

I've seen American Beauty, and could probably watch the rest of his films, but Lone Star is my definite favourite. It takes a lot of patience to watch, but if it 'clicks' with you, it's impossible to leave alone. I have it on video because I like to come back to it every now and again. The characters are fascinating, especially Sam and Pilar - I'm torn between wanting a sequel, to find out what happened for the two 'star cross'd' lovers, and undertstanding that everything was said in the one film. I love Sam's dry sense of humour, and his laconic speech: (Hollis) You been out by your old house? (Sam) No. Even his delivery of one word was droll!

What do others think of this film, and what are some of the best scenes?
