So I was on a bus, headed to a footy game the other day and saw someone reading Redwall. He was reading an older copy, you know the old green one, busy artwork and all? not the new, purple one. And I was all **grabby hands** at him, but it turns out he was reading it to make sure it was okay for his kid (I assured him no childhood was complete with out Redwall!). But it made me miss you all, and I don't really know what it is that has been making just about everyone I know in fandom so nostalgic, but dear gods, have we been. I miss you guys. I miss ITW. I miss bad graphics and slow forum loads and everyone hanging out for hours (even if we were on dial up!) and I miss Sali and Camp Willow and Mossflower Treetops. Hell, I'll even admit to missing expages. And I am not sure what it is about the Redwall fandom that makes me miss it more than any other fandom, even fandoms that have mostly disappeared as well. Maybe it's that we were all so young and trusting, or that I was in this fandom for so long. But regardless, I miss it! So I would like to second (or third, or fourth) a grand reunion of us. I know some people from back in the day still, kept in touch with a few and became RL friends even, and facebook friends with more, but I am betting that there is a large portion of you I wont remember until I see your name here (as such happened with Windpaw's post below). So, you know. We should do this!
(And in my mind, a young otter maid scuttles across the hall, a hare bounding at her side and squirrel racing after, the three good friends. They make their way out and down to a river bank, where more otters and squirrels and even a badger wait, ready to play and laugh the day away, reeds in paw.)
