Marion,
You haven't read the "Little House" books? Oh, you must! I still re-read them once a year. They are wonderful! You should check out the websites, here is my favorite: http://www.liwms.com/. Laura left a lot out of her books and played down a lot of situations. (One took place in Kansas - the Native Americans were there to kill them and it was only the intervention of Laura's Mom that saved them) There's a book that they have that tells about all of the people in her books, what happened to them and what happened to Laura and her family. Very, very interesting. The t.v. show was very good, many stories were taken from the books, however there was a bit of artisic license taken as well! Melissa is a wonderful actress, and has done a lot of great work, in television, here in the States. She was just elected to be the President of the Screen Actors Guild (the union for actors in Hollywood). She was up against Valerie Harper (Rhoda). Just a bit of trivia for you!
A long time ago when I was on Prodigy I was involved on a board and one of the ladies there actually met Laura. I was in shock. They went on a school trip (in Missouri) and met her on her farm there. Can you believe it? Wow! What an honor.
Well, I've rambled enough for one night..
Take care!
