The mare lowers head and grazes, appearance calm but ears flickering for every sound and eyes watching, always alert. She shall wait, then, until the one dubbed Rage is able to take up the challenge. But until then, she shall not be content to be under the rule of anyone but the stallion.

The filly canters up and lays her ears back, teasing her dam as she skips about her.

She squeals and lashes out, blowing through her nostrils in annoyance at the filly. She is old enough to look after herself now; she shall no longer be taken care of. The mare rushes at the filly, teeth barred as she chases her away.

She flicks her muzzle upwards and turns her quarters on her second-from-youngest daughter, but after a few minutes relaxes enough to let Jem nearer.
