Subject: The Sound of Silence Since the Reunion !!!???
In reply to: Doug Doerr 's message, "Dont Know Dave" on 18:24:08 09/15/04 Wed

To Dave and Doug and to all others who are wondering what has happened since the reunion, and when we next will meet:

First, a strong "AHMEN", to "we all miss, Bob". Yes, we do. Fortunately, he is still with us, watching and waiting to see what the Association will become as the "new guys" continue the work that he started, and then passed on to the rest of us.

On September 28, the Association's Board (Keith Reed, Richard Harvey, Vic Thompson), the Treasurer (Dick Dato), the Legal Council (Mike Inlow), and the Newsletter Editor (me) participated in a telecon to discuss the work that we collectively needed to accomplish in accordance with our assumed responsibilities and for the good of the Association membership.

One action item to which we agreed was the publishing of the next Association Newsletter by the end of October, with an end of year edtion (with Association Roster) scheduled for December, 2004.

As Editor of the Newsletter, I am in the process of drafting the October edition. It will contain information from the Association Board, preliminary details about the next Reunion, input from the Membership Committee, Association Points of Contact, and other related information, including a recap of the June Reunion.

With respect to the June Reunion Recap, I invite the submittal of appropriate input from any of our members who attended the June Reunion. If you have a significant moment, an experience, a memory, or an observation from the Reunion that you would like to share with the Association, those who attended the Reunion and those who did not, please email the details to me. If you prefer, you can call and we can discuss your thoughts. Whichever method is easier for you. Once I see what we have in terms of volume and subject matter, I can determine how best to offer the material to the Association. I need this input no later than October 15.

As you wait for the Newsletter later this month, please consider how you can contribute to making this Association whatever you think it ought to be. Consider how adding your talents, expertise and enthusiasm to that of the rest of the Association can make an impact on what we do and how well we do it. The Newsletter will discuss a few of the opportunities for member participation/contributions in the Association.

Additionally, fill the "Sound of Silence" with your direct communications with your friends in the Association to make them aware of this Forum and of this message. Since the Newsletter is the only "formal" communication vehicle we use currently, and since the Newsletter will be on a quarterly publication cycle (or so we anticipate), we should continue to use the Forum as an informal means for communication among ourselves.

Thank you for your commitment to the membership. My apologies for the dead space since June. I know the Board is "in the process" of gearing up and getting organized.

Best reagrds to all.
Mike
