Subject: {officially too brain-dead to think of a subject...}
In reply to: N'lan - Hearth 's message, "Re: The sound of wings echoes in the air as someone pops from between...." on 18:45:31 12/08/01 Sat

T'kaal was roused from the depths of a late slumber to his bronze's jubilant bugle. ~Wha' is it?~ the Weyrleader asked, his mind still fogged by too much sleep. Golden Taliath has returned! and, as an afterthought to this paean: As well as her rider... The bronzerider chose to ignore any possible insinuations, and instead rushed to dress. He didn't like to admit how much he'd worried about her. Quite strange, considering he'd barely known her. But he supposed that after sharing the special experience of mating dragons, one might feel more attached than one might expect.
Are you angry? Nementh asked finally. ~That's the odd thing... I'm not sure... I'm certainly upset, though.~
After dressing hurriedly, T'kaal strode out of the Weyr and nearly collided with Ralek. He took a step back, scanning her as if to be certain of her presence. "I. . . Where were you?" were the first words out of his mouth. But they weren't the last. "We had no idea what had happened to you... In this day and age, every rider counts, Ralek... Nothing happened while you were gone, but what if something had? What then? Ralek. . . You know much more about running a Weyr. I missed your experience, your advice. . . Honestly, I don't know how I've managed. . ." His words dribbled off rather abruptly as the concept finally dug in. She was back. He would not be alone nights, nor would he be the sole leader anymore, expected to know all.
He was glad. For all his leadership skills, there were times when he was at a loss what to do, and even if Ralek was just as dumbfounded as he (which probably wouldn't be the case anyhow), at least he would have company. He sighed and cautiously extended a trembling hand of friendship. "Um... I guess I'm mostly glad you're back all in one piece, wherever you were... would you like some klah?"
