While you're right about contributions being low, I'd be very disappointed if Arachnophilia came to an end. I have long felt, and still do, that all the other Spiders web sites (including the official one) were a poor man's alternative to this one.

Furthermore, I doubt any (but the official one) will last as long as Arachnophilia has. Most of them are run by people who get bored quickly, and the sites become a passing interest. However, this site has been seen by many and is pretty well known, unless I'm terribly mistaken. The only new site that has a chance of sticking around as long as this one is the spiderspics.co.uk, and that is because it is automated. It also lacks because it's just one account many in a 'mail your pics in' service called "text america" (or something). While this is all cool and dandy, it also makes it rather homogenous. It just isn't Arachnophilia.

The only criticism of this site is the lame forum flame fests that flare up (Yes I hold my hands up, I've participated in these, but have also vowed never to again. A vow to which I have stayed true).

In every sense I can think of, this is the only true Spiders website. May it go on, and on, and on, and on, and on ...
