Capito to Speak about Paying for College Workshop at Jefferson High School

First in Your Family is pleased to host the first Paying for College
workshop in the Eastern Panhandle on

Saturday, April 20 at 9:30am at Jefferson High School. The Sallie Mae
Fund, the philanthropic arm of USA Education, commonly known as Sallie
Mae, will conduct the one-hour program. Paying for College is a basic
financial aid workshop that helps families understand the financial aid
process and different ways to pay for college costs. The program
discusses how eligilibility for financial aid is determined, the
different types of financial aid available, how to find scholarships
and
grants, and the forms required to apply for financial aid.

Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito will introduce the session and
discuss
the importance of higher education to the Eastern Panhandle. High
school
students (and parents) from Jefferson, Berkeley and Morgan counties are
encouraged to attend. Participants will receive a Paying for College
workbook, and are also eligible to enter a drawing for a free $500
scholarship at the end of the session.

First in Your Family is pleased to bring a new service to Jefferson
County that will enable more students to pursue a college education.
