Sorry I was'nt able to make it on Friday everyone but it was due to a massive mistake on my behalf. Anyway its seems as though there has been alot of progress, but can anyone fill me in on what's happening now?
I wrote a intentions statement for the last meeting but due to some changes that I understand have been made it may not be correct but some might be able to be still used:

STATEMENT OF INTENT:

The idea behind this is to use it as a basis to play around with our creativity to produce a proffessional looking experimental publication.
This will prove to be a challenge but will also enable us to try and push the boundaries of publishing within our time (this is not another lifestyle magazine).

Every issue will change in title and eventually these titles will spell a sentence when placed next to each other (eg. 1st issue - AND, 2nd issue - BLONDE, 3rd issue - IF) which enables the reader to interact with the publication and keeps them ever wondering what the title of the next issue is going to be, never knowing what to expect but intrigued and excited to find out.
The theme of the content will change directly according to the title of that issue and the style of the content could be anything from paintings, graffiti, graphic art, conceptual art, experimental photography, screenprintints to creative writing, innovative typography and poetry, sometimes this may include gallery listings or gig reviews and even artist, author or musician interviews (but only if it is some way relevant to the subject matter of that issue).
Most issues will change from one format to the next per issue (eg. 1st issue - poster, 2nd issue - booklet, 3rd issue - cd-rom etc).
It will essentially be an evolving creative experiment which will help to inspire us and others that follow it, providing us with the invaluable chance to experience, early on in our careers, the many different formats available to us as designers.
There is also website set up which is at our disposal to do what ever we want with (animation work, short films, games, music) so we can air our multi media work for a low cost.
We will not be recognised just for the changing titles of each issue but also for the memorable logo which we shall colectively go by. With this different and original approach to publishing we'll be hoping to change the perspective of what we've all come to accept in sociaty as 'the magazine'.
It will be a 2 year project in which we can explore the many different aspects of art and creativity in ourselves and the world that surrounds us - the world that is our lives - the world that is the inspiration for our unique form of expression and communication.

hello
At wednesday meeting Justy gave us a hand out with all the info on it. You should get an e-mail about it soon. I like your statement of intent but I think we want to keep it a bit shorter. On the hand out is a very short statement, it says:
and is a publication which aims to;
-Challenge existing methods of communication within graphic design.
-explore, document and connect the web of ideas which create our visule culture.
-create a forum in which to express individual and communal identities
This statement is quite vague compaired to yours, but if your happy with it we should maybe try to get a logo and stuff worked out now, i dunno what do you think?
P.S any ideas for our visual identity (logo ect) email to me as jpeg at max.garfinkel@talk21.com and i will put them on our website, on a bit that only people involved with the mag can see
