What Crofty's fans are failing to remember is that when he took all those wickets, he was a good bowler with his tail up.

He has suffered a major dip in form that is reflected in his rising average and has lost confidence. He bowled a very poor line against the Windies such that they hardly had to play a ball and his one wicket was a very generous lbw decision.

The selectors had to resort to Such in Australia due to Crofty's yips.

The boyo needs a good season in county cricket bowling the off stump line that got him all those wickets before he gets another run in the team.

On Schofield, I can only say that the England selectors have a habit of picking a youn cricketer and then dropping him without hardly ever playing him, Ashley Cowan, Graham Swann spring quickly to mind and there is almost a player per season who is treated like this.

On helpful wickets in Bangladesh on the last A team tour, Schofield bowled sides out. We could do a lot worse than pick him and play him. The point about Warne's ear;y career has been well made. I wish our selectors had been in charge of Australia as they would have never picked Warne again!
