Premise

Perseus reluctantly
encounters Medusa�s enticing face-
a face fastidiously made up in
ultra shades of glamorous LCD.
Her vipers fall about as tangled coils,
writhing madly out of the nest of their
heated Pentium mass.

II
The Battle

The four surround in painted office grey

as he sighs within.

A wooden-metal slab sits cold-toed on caster steel.
That�s today. Someday it may grow up to be a built-in;

yet he winces from behind.

The day is adorned with black polyester/wool blend,
no cuffs;

inside, however, he is sardonically amused.

Despite the mundane,
combat engages his 3 prepositions.
With (s)word & song, he turns to stand
and defend himself, for he cannot hide
perpetually when a poet exists
in his personal space.
