Sad news just to hand ......

Search called off for missing SA(South Australian)windsurfer

Sunday 30 May, 1999 (12:53pm AEST)

South Australian police have ended their search along the west side of
the Yorke Peninsula for the remains of a young Adelaide man believed to
have been taken by a shark.

A damaged windsurfer harness and parts of a badly-slashed wetsuit will
be taken to Adelaide for forensic tests.

Police say the 22-year-old from North Adelaide was on holiday with
friends and had been windsurfing in the Hardwicke Bay area near
Minlaton.

He was last seen at about 2:30pm ACST yesterday and reported missing
last night.
Minlaton Constable Phil Copley says a search last night involved members
of the State Emergency Service, local volunteers, and the Country Fire
Service.
