Date Posted: 1003087050PDT Here's my report: fished my 14 ft skiff for two days off the upper nine, 182, 302 area. The damage: 1 Dorado 10 lb. , two yellow fin tuna 27 and 31 lb. 5 yellows 10 lb. to twenty. Hot area Wednesday for both tuna and yellows around ten. 32.37.486-117.28.28 Better grade yellows 20 lb. were here Thursday on multiple paddies. 32.34.880-117.32.356 All fish were taken on dines on light line (no troll fish) The Dorado the larger tuna and three of the five yellows were caught on seventeen pound fluorocarbon. Additionally I lost at least six more big yellows to paddies. Very hard to stop them on the light line. I'd try to chum them away with chunks then bait them. Still a lot of the fish made it back home. The others were taken on twenty five off paddies. The Dorado and largest tuna were slow trolled dine fish. The rest just plain bait fish. My advice is work off the upper 9 two to six miles outside. I found all the fish through birds but not much action, just birds generally hanging around, or in the case of the Dorado hovering over one spot. Saw no jumpers, breezers, or feeders, very little visible action. The fish are there but you have to work for them. Personally I doubt just throwing out a few feathers is going to cut it. A few pics: Pic... Pic... Pic... Pic... Pic... Pic... Pic... I'll post more later. By the way I hooked two mako's. One hit a dine and snagged herself on the top of her head. She jumped four times and I had her all the way to the boat before she came off (quick release ) her little sister followed her up. Here's a shot just before I cut her loose. Pic... Sixty pounds or around there. Anybody know anything about seasick dawgs Here's one: Pic... She was a champ about it though. Great trip for my little skiff....
