Ooops - forget that last one (just learning how to use these pages & sent without entering my comments!) For a really interesting take on this one, see the "Coupes" page on my website at http://www.pipeline.com.au/users/bevan - hope you enjoy. I agree the AU was a shock to the system but it grows on you if you give it a chance. If you don't agree with me then visit our site! And as far as the Commodore being 'superior' - haven't you people got any mechanical knowledge at all? I mean how does cast iron heads and push rods become 'superior' to an alloy headed OHC six? Or that every VT Commodore contains that defective Independant Rear Suspension (even the press are starting to own up to this) - just read the Melbourne Herald Sun's second hand review of the VT published in it's "Cars Guide" only a month ago. And as far as styling goes - at least the Falcon looks like it should be being made in the year 2000. The Fact is, the more you look at the AU the better it looks - the more you look at the VT the more it looks awkward and cartoonish, with it's triangular B pilliars and body kit that looks like a cheap Hyundai item. People pick on the Falcon's wheel arches but at least they make the Falcon's 17" wheels look like they are that size! Standard Commodore 15" wheels look like they are 13" and the 17's look like the 15's are supposed to be. So give the AU a go - you might be suprised by how good this car can look - even the Forte.
