Subject: a Red-winged Blackbird

this past friday, as i was leaving work, there was a red-winged blackbird who captured my attention ... first, because of the extremely close proximity of his landing, allowing me see the beautiful red and yellow epaulettes which looked like a colorful type of military regalia worn on the shoulder of his wing ... but, it was his persistence in vocalizing which caused me to ponder the serendipity of my making his acquaintance! :) ... i was unable to capture the moment on camera, but found a video on "you tube" of a similar bird ... and, thought i'd share it if that's ok ...

side note: i always find it interesting when chance meetings such as this one occurs to make a search of various associations to myths, legends, totems, etc. ... transformed what some deem to be an unlucky day into a very encouraging one! :)
