- when posting the video last Sunday, i honestly thought it was Mom's Day! :)
- in celebration of "Mom's Day" ... took my own mom to see the new "Avengers" movie last Sunday at a very cool, "antique" drive-in movie theater ...

- side note: my mom just turned 81 years young about a month ago ... and, she is now an "Avenger" fan! ... after seeing the movie last week ... we purchased a copy of "Iron Man" to help give a bit of background info on our favorite character in the movie ... and, we are now in the process of collecting "Captain America", "Thor" and "Hulk"

*** Mom's Day "faux pas" cont'd ...
- this week, while sitting on the bus, waiting for the kids to get out of school, another bus driver showed me a beautiful necklace (heart-shaped w/"Mom" written in the center) - a thoughtful gift she was able to purchase at quite a savings ... i complimented on her selection (*** quietly thinking to myself, well i guess she missed mother's day - and, perhaps that's why she was able to purchase the necklace at the 70% discount :) ...
*** 'cause BC is still clue-less at this point re: her own "calendar miscalculations"! :)

- after viewing at-home the first in the series of background-bio's of the "Avengers" / Robert Downey's "Iron Man" ... we tuned into local programming on the TV and caught glimpse of a "generic" Mom's Day commercial reminding everyone to "remember Mom" this Sunday ! :)
- a bit embarrassed, i turned and told Mom of my "too early" mistake ... she said, "I just thought you wanted to celebrate a bit early so I could enjoy the whole week before Mother's Day?!" :)
- guess it's better to be a bit early than a little too late? but, isn't there another sayin' that says "better late than never?!"
- geez! :)
- well, anyways ... we will be celebrating again this weekend by attending the new "Dark Shadows" movie ...
*** i'm a long-time fan of the original "Dark Shadows" TV series and, my Mom is a Johnny Depp fan / "Edward Scissorhands" being her favorite Depp character!
side note: Johnny Depp IS "Captain Jack Sparrow" ...
but, to me, Jonathan Frid is, was, and will always be "Barnabas Collins" ...
- kinda like the character of "Dr. MacNeill" from the "Christy" series ... can you imagine anyone but SFM in that role?! ... nope ...to me, it just wouldn't be the same! Thank goodness Stewart returned for the final three "Christy" movies! :)

*** last night, there was an unexpected and pleasant surprise while attending the "dark shadows" movie ...
- just thought it to be "very cool" that Jonathan Frid made a cameo appearance as one of the guests in the ballroom scene! :)
