Hi BC!
We only have three semesters. But as far as holidays go, it's almost the same i think. We get one week in november, two weeks for Christmas and Easter and one week in february.
I like that system too. But here the holidays are paid (althought that probably means we're earning less on the other weeks :)

I think the fireworks on the 4th of july are really worth seeing. I've seen images of it and videos and so but that's not the real thing.
