Subject: Relaxing

Inside in the air conditioning enjoying a Tim Tam and a cup of coffee getting ready to go back to reading "Confederates in the Attic" and trying NOT to think of what the electric bill will be for this month. No end of the oppressive heat in sight for days and days and days! Heat index has been and is around 110! Already tired of summer weather. . . but mostly so sad and sorry for all those still trying to tear down, clean up or build in Joplin.

Sort of nervous, yet excited. I just bought a retirement home last month, the price was too good to pass up. If all goes well, I will take my "first" retirement in just under two years and will move back to the country. However, after I retire, I will still be looking for another full-time or part-time job or substitute teach to supplement my Kansas Public Employees Retirement checks. Will need to make something more to pay for medical insurance! Will have a while to go before SS checks or Medicaid, if it is even still there!!

I am praying that the economy improves some by them, but I'm not too optimistic. I will see what happens over the next couple of years. . . I have enjoyed the city, but it is time to get back to my roots. Still, it will be hard to leave the conveniences of the city, my current home (much BIGGER), my yard, trees, etc. However, my retirement home's backyard opens up to a view of 23 acres of fescue so I will have a wonderful view of the sunset each evening and it will be much easier to maintain and is much newer.

Went to the real estate page today and saw this:
